Giant squid are mysterious! So mysterious that they have been the subject of myths and monster stories for centuries. There is still a $1,000,000 bounty for catching one alive!
They are one of the favourite foods of Sperm Whales. Because Giant Squid eat creatures that live down deep, when Sperm Whales eat them they help bring biomass back up to the surface, which fertilizes the kelp sea grass in the shallow waters.
Giant squid are weird! They have three hearts, three brains, blue blood, and their 8 arms and 2 tentacles have teeth around the suckers!
